But not quite at the same time as the Toyota Cavalier.

Yup!!! The Vibe/Voltz is awesome! They even had a Voltz logo of the same shape as the Pontiac sign.
ZZE136: Vibe/Voltz S, FWD 1ZZ
ZZE137: Vibe GT/Voltz Z, FWD 2ZZ
ZZE138: Vibe/Voltz AWD
Too bad GM was too stupid to offer a RHD Vibe in the US for postal use. But then again, they didn’t learn anything from NUMMI or the bailout :|
here is GM part number 22649423

I have in a drawer somewhere a Toyota badge sealed in a GENUINE GM PARTS bag.

They did have the Caldina, though, which was like the Matrix, but with the badass 4th gen 3s-GTE under the hood and available with AWD

It’s my second favorite GM-Toyota chimera after the Chevrolet Nova Twin Cam.

The Matrix XRS and Vibe GT are two of the coolest cars that nobody remembers. I mean, seriously, they’re wagovans with rubber-lined cargo areas that had the 8,000 rpm nutzo engine out of the Celica GT-S in it for no reason that makes any kind of sense.

I don’t blame them. The 1st gen Vibe looked miles better then the Matrix.

I always really liked the whole sloping roof/integrated roof rack thing it had going on.

ooooooooooooo a red plus sign!!!!!
Don’t forget the later Geo Prizm GSi, which was also available as a hatchback. The GSi and Nova Twin Cam were the only US-market 4-door Corollas available with the 4A-GE

I use to own a ‘03 Vibe, I found the roof rack was too far back. It looked good visually, but was kinda an inconvenient design. Also how the front seat can fold flat (the hard plastic cargo area was also nice):
and the rear glass could lift separate:
*Matrix pictured, but the Vibe did the same thing’s.

I knew there was a Geo one at some point. Especially for the Prizm (the Novas are getting old now), I have the highly improbable fantasy of finding one extremely cheap because the owner didn’t know it was anything special.
